Kathy Adams started her long arm quilting business in 2003 with a hand-operated Gammill Classic long arm machine. Today there are two Statler fully computerised machines, a Sweet Sixteen domestic long arm, and a Prodigi twelve needle industrial embroidery machine.Kathy has quilted over 2,000 quilts for her many satisfied customers, and several have won prizes at major quilt shows and exhibitions.
In 2008, Kathy's husband Geoff joined the business. This has increased the capacity of the quilting service and shortened delivery times. Geoff also helps with the pattern publishing and customer service.
In 2009, Koolkat quilting began publishing a range of quilt patterns, many of which are aimed at helping beginner quilters.
A range of embroidered and quilted products followed, to further showcase Kathy's talents. In 2010, Kathy built a second studio which provides her with her separate creative space and provides enough room for visitors! Also in 2010, Kathy won first place in a section at Queensland Quilt Show, and quilts made using using 'Gather Ye Rosbuds' pattern won prizes at State shows in Queensland and Canberra. Now with 3 computerised Statler machines KoolKat Quilting offers a 7 day service for edge-to-edge machine quilting. In 2011 Kathy commenced classes in her new studio which have proved popular. While all are welcome to visit, bookings are essential for classes. Resume
